Nuevas Ideas Set to Dominate Legislative Election According to Cid Gallup Poll.

In a recent poll conducted by Cid Gallup, the political party Nuevas Ideas is poised to secure a substantial victory in the upcoming legislative election on February 4. The survey reveals that Nuevas Ideas is projected to win 52 seats in the future Legislative Assembly.

Luis Haug, the General Manager of the polling firm, clarified that there is a possibility for the cyan party to secure an additional four seats, potentially reaching a total of 56 deputies. The anticipated composition of the Legislative Assembly includes a total of 60 seats, with a simple majority requiring 31 votes, a qualified majority requiring 40 votes, and a three-quarters majority necessitating 45 votes.

According to Haug, the survey results suggest that Nuevas Ideas is likely to secure 13 seats in San Salvador. Meanwhile, one seat is predicted to go to ARENA, with the remaining two distributed among other political forces.

Cid Gallup’s public opinion poll reaffirms the trend observed in other surveys, indicating that Nuevas Ideas is positioned for a landslide victory in the legislative election.

Interestingly, the poll also signals potential challenges for the FMLN, as the level of popular support may not be sufficient for the party to sustain itself post-election. There is a growing consensus among various polls that the FMLN could face an uncertain future.

As the political landscape continues to evolve, these survey results shed light on the shifting dynamics within the Salvadoran political arena, hinting at a significant transformation in the composition of the Legislative Assembly and the potential reconfiguration of political forces. The nation eagerly awaits the outcome of the election on February 4, as voters determine the future direction of El Salvador’s political landscape.
