Delegates from the member countries of the Central American Integration System (SICA) gathered at the Surf City Walter Thilo Deininger Adventure Park on Wednesday afternoon during the 2023 Second Forum on Social, Solidarity, and Sustainable Tourism. The visit aimed to foster cross-country exchange of experiences, particularly focusing on strengthening social tourism. El Salvador, the host nation, took the opportunity to showcase its efforts in promoting sustainable and socially responsible tourism over the past four years.
The first stop for the delegates was the Interpretative Center of the Surf City Walter Thilo Deininger Adventure Park. Led by the President of the Salvadoran Tourism Institute (ISTU), Eny Aguiñada, and the Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, the delegates explored the unique features of the park.
The participating countries in the 2023 Second Forum on Social, Solidarity, and Sustainable Tourism include Costa Rica, Guatemala, El Salvador, Honduras, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. Representatives from Mexico and Chile were also present.
An integral part of the discussions centered around collaborative efforts between the Ministries of Tourism and Environment. This partnership aims to provide protection to the natural area encompassed by the adventure park, showcasing the commitment of these nations to environmental conservation.
