Royal Caribbean Group is set to employ 100 skilled maritime workers from El Salvador. This significant recruitment drive is part of the Labor Mobility Program, a collaborative initiative between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID).

Royal Caribbean Group, renowned as one of the world’s leading cruise companies with a fleet of 60 ships visiting over 800 destinations worldwide, has embarked on a recruitment process aimed at benefiting aspiring merchant mariners from across the nation.

Throughout the rigorous interview process, specialists meticulously assessed the applicants’ experience, affirming the expertise of Salvadoran labor. Sandra Jarquín, a representative of Royal Caribbean Group, emphasized the company’s commitment to securing the best-qualified workforce, particularly individuals proficient in English.

“In this beautiful country, we are seeking candidates for various specific positions that align with the needs of our ships during our peak season. We are looking for individuals who are not only English speakers but also possess other valuable skills,” stated Jarquín.

The selected workforce will bolster and enhance the company’s operations in essential areas such as cleaning, maintenance, lighting, entertainment, and security, according to the company representative.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported that the candidates who participated were already registered in the Labor Mobility Program, underlining the government’s commitment to offering regular, organized, and secure employment opportunities abroad under President Nayib Bukele’s leadership.

This marks the second year of Royal Caribbean Group’s partnership with El Salvador in hiring skilled labor, following an agreement forged in early 2021. This collaboration is a testament to the government’s dedication to opening doors for Salvadoran workers on the global stage.
