The El Salvadoran government, in collaboration with the Kingdom of Morocco, has presented the inaugural phase of the Ecological Boardwalk at El Tunco Beach, marking a significant milestone in the development of this picturesque coastal destination. This ambitious project, financed by Morocco, aims to transform El Tunco Beach into a premier tourist hotspot for both Salvadorans and international visitors, according to tourism authorities.
The Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez, was joined by the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in El Salvador, Brahim Baddi, and representatives from the Technical Secretariat for External Financing (SETEFE) of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for an official tour of the Ecological Boardwalk at El Tunco Beach. This initiative represents a collaborative effort between the two countries to bolster tourism in El Salvador.
The initial phase of the ecological boardwalk, situated on El Tunco Beach in La Libertad, was jointly unveiled by officials from both nations. Its ultimate goal is to emerge as a premier tourist destination, catering to the local population and attracting tourists from around the world.
Morena Valdez, the Minister of Tourism, explained, “Our vision is to transform this boardwalk into a place where people can leisurely stroll all the way to El Sunzal Beach,” providing further details about the project’s scope and ambition.
She went on to highlight the commitment of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in El Salvador, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and all relevant governmental entities in their joint effort to elevate El Salvador into an emerging, top-tier tourist destination. “We are commencing the first phase of this boardwalk, which will provide public spaces for people to walk and appreciate the beauty of El Salvador,” Minister Valdez added.
Brahim Baddi, the Charge d’Affaires of the Embassy of the Kingdom of Morocco in El Salvador, expressed the excellent relations between the two countries and Morocco’s enthusiasm for contributing to the growth of tourism in El Salvador.
