Avianca Expands to Increase Their Flights Frequency To 110 Weekly Flights to Take Off in November.

Avianca has announced a substantial increase in its flight frequencies departing from El Salvador. Starting from November, the airline will operate a remarkable total of 110 weekly flights. This move comes hand in hand with the creation of approximately 200 new job opportunities, showcasing Avianca’s dedication to enhancing its services and contributing to the local workforce.

As part of its strategic growth plan and commitment to providing excellent service to the people of El Salvador, Avianca has revealed its intention to amplify its flight frequencies to North America, Central America, and South America for the upcoming winter season spanning from November 2023 to March 2024.

During this period, the airline is set to operate 110 flights per week from El Salvador to various destinations that connect with the country. This increase will bring an additional 2,800 daily seats to the table. Furthermore, Avianca will incorporate five new Airbus A320 aircraft into the Salvadoran market. Alex Benítez, Vice President of Avianca for Central America and the Andean Region, shared these exciting developments.

“In introducing this new offering, we reaffirm our commitment to connectivity and trust in the country. Starting November, our customers will have more itinerary options in the morning, noon, or night to the most sought-after destinations. They will continue to personalize their journeys based on their needs, enjoying punctuality and the advantages of LifeMiles, among other benefits,” commented Benítez.

In terms of destinations, the expansion plan entails adding 52 new weekly flights to the United States, with a notable emphasis on cities such as Los Angeles, Washington, New York, San Francisco, Houston, and Dallas. Additionally, 44 weekly flights will be added to Central American routes, primarily to Managua, San José, Guatemala City, Palmerola, and San Pedro Sula.

The South American sector will see an increase of 14 weekly flights, particularly to Bogotá, Quito, and Guayaquil. As a cherry on top, towards the end of the year, the airline plans to inaugurate a new route to Oakland, providing travelers with a fresh option when heading to California.

Avianca has also invested approximately $300,000 in 12 kiosks at the El Salvador airport, in addition to around $80 million for each of the new aircraft that will initiate these expanded operations.

Reyna Mejía, Avianca’s Country Officer for El Salvador, announced that the airline will generate around 200 new job positions, encompassing roles for pilots, cabin crew, airport operations personnel, and ground staff. This effort aligns with Avianca’s commitment to the Salvadoran job market, with roughly 90% of the new positions reserved for local individuals.

“These new investments stand as evidence of the airline’s confidence in El Salvador. We believe in the country and have received the affection and support of the Salvadoran people,” remarked Mejía.

In the course of this year, Avianca has transported over 1.8 million passengers to and from El Salvador, maintaining punctuality indicators surpassing 90%. With its renewed focus on connectivity, increased job opportunities, and substantial investments, Avianca solidifies its role as a vital contributor to El Salvador’s air travel and economy.
