The construction of the new Hospital Rosales has made significant progress, with the completion of 10% of the project. Dozens of workers are nearing the end of the first phase, which involves the foundation and floor construction. This hospital will be the first building in the country to receive EDGE certification, a testament to its sustainability and efficiency.
According to Edwin Chavarría, representative of the Municipal Works Directorate (DOM), the construction of the new Hospital Rosales has reached a milestone of 10% completion, just weeks after the groundbreaking ceremony. Currently, dozens of workers are tirelessly advancing around the clock in the first phase of the project, focusing on the complex foundation and floor construction.
«We are building infrastructure that meets international standards; the new Hospital Rosales will be earthquake-resistant and equipped with all necessary emergency exits,» affirms Edwin Chavarría, the DOM representative.
Among the innovative features of the new hospital are its exceptional safety measures. It will have multiple evacuation routes and emergency exits, as well as fire sensors. Each level will also include designated safety zones. Furthermore, the hospital is designed to be earthquake-resistant, making it the first of its kind in the country. Additionally, it will be the first building in the country to incorporate EDGE technology, allowing for a 20% reduction in energy and water consumption.
«The new Hospital Rosales will be environmentally friendly, with EDGE certification, which stands for Excellence in Design for Greater Efficiencies. El Salvador will be the first country to receive this certification, enabling the creation of high-quality structures. The basements of Hospital Rosales will also meet this verification,» announced Chavarría.
Regarding other medical projects under construction, Chavarría mentioned that they are making progress with the construction of ten clinics and health units in Nombre de Jesús, Chalatenango; Yamabal and Sensembra in Morazán; Tecoluca in San Vicente, among other locations.
