El Salvador and India strengthen their bilateral relations.

The Salvadoran Foreign Minister, Alexandra Hill, held a meeting with the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Culture of India, Meenakashi Lekhi, with the aim of strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.

According to the authorities, India is one of El Salvador’s main partners on the Asian continent.

“We can ensure that India is a strategic partner to achieve sustainable development for our population,” said Alexandra Hill during a meeting that highlighted the diplomatic relations between the two nations, which date back 44 years.

In this sense, the Salvadoran Foreign Minister thanked India for its support during the COVID-19 pandemic and El Salvador’s interest in advancing trade, investment, and cooperation initiatives between the two countries.

“Together we can solve many common problems. Our work is committed to the well-being of the people and is truly there to support their prosperity across the board,” Hill added.

The authorities also held a meeting with the Indian community in El Salvador after the meeting ended.
