The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexandra Hill, presented to the Minister of Tourism and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Fund for the Development of Saudi Arabia (SFD), Ahmed Aqueel Al-Khateeb, the range of destinations and investment potential in tourism that El Salvador has.
In a meeting with the Arab authorities, the minister presented the projects promoted by the government, such as Surf City, which has started its second phase, Pacific Airport and Pacific Train, projects that will be built in the east of the country.
On another investment item, the parties discussed fuels and the production of renewable energy, an area in which El Salvador has excelled in wind and geothermal energy projects.
On this point, Hill highlighted the Salvadoran participation in the General Assembly of the International Renewable Energy Agency (Irena), which took place at the end of September this year and where El Salvador holds the presidency.
The minister reiterated the interest in establishing spaces for dialogue with the Saudi body, in order to strengthen different types of development projects, aimed at benefiting the Salvadoran population in economic and social matters.
The SFD is an entity created in 1975 that grants soft loans and grants to developing countries to finance national projects and programs in the areas of infrastructure, energy development, agriculture, preservation of water reserves, environmental protection, energy saving, among others.
