As a result of the implementation of the Territorial Control Plan and the War Against Gangs, July and August 2022 will become the two safest months in the country’s history, as confirmed by the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele.
According to official statistics from the National Civil Police, August ended with 21 days with zero homicides.
To date, public security measures and strategies have allowed a historic reduction in homicides, registering more than 180 days with zero murders nationwide.
In addition, the authorities report the capture of more than 51,000 terrorists operating on a national scale.
It should also be noted that thanks to the security policies promoted by the government of President Nayib Bukele, El Salvador was removed from the list of the most dangerous countries in the world.
The communities and areas that were classified as dangerous are now free of gangs and Salvadoran families feel safer. However, a small opposition group does not agree with the measures and continues to defend the terrorists.
