The figures of the National Civil Police (PNC), on Tuesday, August 30, ended with zero deaths due to violence throughout the country, becoming the 19th day with this statistic and reaffirming the success of the Territorial Control Plan and the implementation of the emergency regime in El Salvador.
The days that have recorded zero homicides in all of El Salvador during this month of August 2022 are: 1, 2, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 21, 23, 24, 29, and 30, with which the country continues with the downward trend in the number of homicides in the country that made last July the safest in the history of El Salvador.
The President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, highlighted this positive data and pointed out the trend that has been maintained and that could leave August 2022 as one of the safest months in the history of El Salvador.
July 2022 recorded a total of 21 days with zero homicides, being the safest in the entire recent history of the country. The official data of the police corporation indicates that the days with zero homicides in the month of July were: 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 10, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22 , 23, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30 and 31.
As for the year 2022, El Salvador has recorded more than 90 days with zero homicides, adding to the one registered this past Tuesday, August 30. More than 85 of those days have been reported under the emergency regime throughout Salvadoran territory.
The exception regime was approved on March 27 by the Legislative Assembly in response to the latest rise in homicides that has been registered in the country and continues in force after the Legislative Body extended it for the fifth time, given the good results that have been achieved. have reported on public safety.
In addition, this positive statistic in terms of security continues to be the result of the execution of the Territorial Control Plan, the security strategy promoted by the Government of El Salvador, chaired by Nayib Bukele, to combat delinquency and criminality.
Since the beginning of the execution of the Territorial Control Plan, which began to be implemented in 2019, El Salvador has recorded more than 175 days with zero homicides, of which more than 80 have been recorded so far in the emergency regime.
Similarly, the Presidential Palace and the public security authorities confirmed yesterday that, so far in the emergency regime, more than 50,500 active gang members and collaborators have been registered throughout the country.
