100% of the computers will be delivered by the Ministry of Education before the end of June.

The interim Minister of Education, Mauricio Pineda, reported this morning that 94% of students in the public sector have already received the computers delivered by the government of El Salvador. In addition, he announced that before the end of the first six months of 2022, 100% of the equipment will be delivered.

“We are going to reach 100% before the end of the first half of the year. The call to the boys and girls is that they use this effort, that they take care of themselves, and if they have doubts, we are already in the process of contracting the company that will maintain the equipment. If you have any questions, call the call center of the Ministry of Education to resolve any doubts” — Pineda explained this Friday in the AM interview space.

On the other hand, the minister explained that mobile units have been deployed to speed up the process of delivering computers. «Before we had delivery offices at certain points, but now we are getting closer. We are doing this through mobile units, reaching the distribution points. So we get much closer to the population, so they don’t have to travel long distances. We have delivered in parks and in schools” — said the minister.

On the other hand, the official reported that starting this day, the voluntary use of masks in educational centers comes into force. As he indicated, this measure was taken based on the parameters that establish the country at a low risk of community transmission of COVID-19.

The minister recalled that they were the first country to voluntarily immunize teachers. “We’ve never had cases of mass contagion in educational settings” — he said.

In this sense, blended attendance is maintained in the country’s educational centers, and it is the parents who will decide whether or not to send their children to school. In the same way, the directors of the educational centers will have an idea of the capacity that each school can accommodate based on its context. He also called on universities to offer this modality to students, especially those who have technical careers and need practical sessions.

«Blended and multimodal educational care is maintained. Parents who want to send their children to school can do so, rest assured that we will be evaluating the pandemic situation at all times” — the minister stressed.
