According to the head of tourism, the adoption of Bitcoin as legal tender in El Salvador has been a key piece in the revitalization of tourism in the country.
“Bitcoin has increased the number of visitors and tourists in our country, which has generated the increase in foreign currency income that we have daily” — she pointed out.
The government has made strategic investments to stimulate tourism, with the infrastructure for Surf City, certification of establishments such as bioinsurance, construction of two viewpoints for Surf City and training for the communities, so that they can provide the best service to visitors. For this year, public investment in tourism will be an estimated $100 million.
