The president of the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA), Federico Anliker, highlighted that the Port of Acajutla is the maritime terminal in the Central American region that registered the greatest movement of containers.
Likewise, he indicated that the maritime terminal is the most important logistics point in the country where imports and exports are being mobilized.
Anliker specified that this port moves 65% of imports and exports and that they are also in expansion plans.
“Soon we will start laying the foundation stone for the expansion of a new container yard. Until carrying a fourfold expansion of the current installed capacity » — he assured.
Anliker explained that, according to maritime statistics, the Port of Acajutla had the highest growth proportionally, and El Salvador grew 19.17% over this port located in the western zone.
