The CEO of Binance, Changpng Zhao, arrived in El Salvador to learn first-hand about the implementation of Bitcoin in the country and hold important meetings to join Salvadoran Bitcoin projects.
Zhao is the CEO of Binance, the largest cryptocurrency exchange in the world and one of the people with the most wealth accumulated from cryptocurrency investments. According to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index, Zhao has a net worth of $96 billion.
The Salvadoran ambassador to the United States, Milena Mayorga, confirmed Zhao’s arrival and pointed out that it is a new opportunity for El Salvador’s economic growth and to promote the economic freedom that the use of bitcoin brings to economies. Mayorga also pointed out that it is the 13th investment that has arrived in the country.
Bitcoin has become legal currency throughout El Salvador since September 7, 2021, the date on which the Bitcoin Law came into force. Since then, El Salvador has become the point of attention of international investors and cryptocurrency experts who have shown an interest in learning about the experience in the country, the first to adopt bitcoin as a legal currency.
