The International Surfing Association ratifies El Salvador as the host of the youth world championship

El Salvador continues to position itself as a good tourist destination through surfing after successful events of international stature were carried out under the articulated work of the government institutions of President Nayib Bukele.

The executive director of the International Surfing Association (ISA), Robert Fasulo, ratified the country as the venue for the Surf City El Salvador ISA World Junior Surfing Championship 2022.

The ISA technical team toured Surf City with the aim of evaluating the possible beaches to hold the event, which has been confirmed from May 27 to June 5, 2022.

“That the ISA entrusts us with an event like this is a source of pride. They trust us, we give them certainty that we can do this type of event”, said the Minister of Tourism, Morena Valdez.

Valdez added that the junior worlds will not only attract athletes who are the next stars of surfing but will also attract a large number of family members who usually travel with the delegations.

In 2022, the country will host 3 continental and world-class surfing championships, which will create economic development opportunities for the tourism industry.
