The Public Ministry initiated new investigations about a plane received by the former president, Mauricio Funes.
Funes assigned the construction of a bridge to a Guatemalan company.
«The former president explains that all the assets were acquired by him, but the evidence shows us the opposite. He was totally corrupt» — he assured.
He explained that the plane was delivered to Funes by a Guatemalan company so that the former president’s administration awarded them back in construction projects. In such a case, he reported that there is evidence to show that the fugitive from justice would have received a plane as a gift.
The prosecutor asserted that the institution will continue to work so that former President Funes responds to justice as well as all those former officials who committed acts of corruption.
