El Salvador Hospital has zero patients at this time, so the health authorities take advantage of it to carry out disinfection work and small repairs. According to the President of the Republic, Nayib Bukele, the hospital specializes in treating COVID-19 patients and has a capacity of 1,000 patients.
Meanwhile, the president pointed out that the Ministry of Health is taking advantage of the moment to carry out minor repairs, painting, and disinfection improvements.
The different strategies, such as the advance preparation of the health system, generated the conditions to provide the necessary space and care for the population that requires intra-hospital interventions against COVID-19 and, in this way, avoid a collapse of the national care system.
The Salvadoran government’s strategy to combat the pandemic has been well received internationally and has influenced the economic recovery that closed in 2021 with more than 10% growth.
«At Hospital El Salvador, many lives have been saved and, thanks to all the strategies, we have registered the greatest reduction in cases. We have started a process of disinfection and adaptation of areas, to continue giving the attention that our people deserve» — as tweeted Health Minister Francisco Alabi.
