Google has announced the opening of a new office in San Salvador, marking its enthusiastic entry into the digital landscape of El Salvador. The tech giant expressed excitement at becoming part of the country’s journey towards digital transformation.

In collaboration with civil society organizations, Google will provide technical and financial support totaling $200,000 to startups in El Salvador. This initiative aims to equip them with the necessary tools to kickstart and scale their businesses.

Building on the agreement signed in 2023 between Google Cloud and the government of El Salvador, significant progress has been made:

1. Simplified and automated digital ecosystems have been created, transforming sectors such as import/export, healthcare, and more.

2. A telemedicine platform leveraging generative AI has been developed to enhance healthcare accessibility for Salvadorans.

3. Provision of Google Workspace for Education to students and training for teachers in public schools.

These initiatives mark Google’s initial steps in El Salvador towards fostering digital transformation not only within the country but also across the region.
