Nayib Bukele to Guatemalans on Binational Bridge Built by El Salvador: “It’s Also for You”

El Salvador has advanced cross-border infrastructure cooperation with Guatemala through the construction of the General Manuel José Arce Binational Bridge and a new connecting road on the Guatemalan side, highlighting the regional scope of the project.

The development aims to improve transportation links between the neighboring countries, facilitating cross-border mobility and supporting commercial activity. The accompanying road infrastructure complements the bridge, helping ensure that the investment delivers practical benefits beyond the crossing itself.

Commenting on the initiative, President Nayib Bukele emphasized its shared purpose, stating that although El Salvador built the bridge, it was also intended to benefit Guatemalans.

The project underscores El Salvador’s commitment to strengthening regional connectivity through infrastructure investments that extend benefits beyond its national borders. Improved transportation links could support trade, tourism, and economic integration between the two countries, reinforcing cooperation across Central America.
