El Salvador Sends Eight Humanitarian Aid Flights to Venezuela, Maintains Relief Mission with No Return Date

El Salvador has reinforced its humanitarian response in Venezuela by dispatching its eighth relief flight, continuing a large-scale mission that combines search and rescue operations, medical assistance, and the delivery of essential supplies to communities affected by the devastating earthquakes of June 24.

According to Salvadoran Civil Protection authorities, the latest flight transported additional emergency personnel and humanitarian aid, strengthening the country’s long-term commitment to supporting affected families. Since the beginning of the mission, El Salvador has delivered operational teams, medicines, medical equipment, food, and other critical supplies through eight separate flights.

As emergency efforts transition from search and rescue to humanitarian assistance, the Salvadoran mission has expanded its medical response with a fully operational field hospital in La Guaira. The facility is providing comprehensive healthcare services, including medical consultations, psychological support, emergency treatment, and veterinary care for animals affected by the disaster.

Authorities reported that the field hospital has already delivered more than 500 medical consultations, while veterinarians continue treating dozens of pets brought by local families. The mission remains staffed by hundreds of Salvadoran professionals, including doctors, paramedics, psychologists, firefighters, rescue specialists, and veterinary personnel working in coordinated shifts to ensure uninterrupted assistance.

Although several international emergency teams have concluded their operations, El Salvador has chosen to maintain its deployment, emphasizing that humanitarian support remains essential during the recovery phase. Civil Protection officials reaffirmed that the mission will continue providing medical services and distributing humanitarian aid for as long as conditions require, underscoring the country’s commitment to international solidarity and disaster response.
