President Bukele Delivers 70 New Schools in El Salvador’s Historic Education Overhaul.

During a heartfelt ceremony at the Colonia Alvarado School Center in Acajutla, President Nayib Bukele completed the third delivery of 70 newly remodeled schools. The event took a personal turn when a student named Jasiel Hernández delivered a moving speech about the value of these new spaces. Bukele praised her words as being written “from the heart,” noting that such a sincere message holds double the value of a standard professional speech, as it reflects the true aspirations of the Salvadoran youth.

This delivery brings the total to 210 schools completed so far under the ambitious “Two Schools Per Day” program. The President emphasized that this is not just about brick and mortar, but about creating a dignified environment where children can dream. He lamented that previous governments failed to prioritize education, whereas his administration is now executing the largest investment in education in the country’s history, with 700 schools currently under intervention.

The President linked these improvements directly to the country’s long-term peace. He stated that while security has been restored, the only way to ensure gang violence never returns is to educate the current generation. “We have the responsibility that this new generation… be a source of great pride for us,” he remarked. He stressed that providing tools to children today is the “recipe” to avoid the cycles of terror that plagued El Salvador for the last 30 years.

The strategy is already showing measurable success, with a noticeable rise in student enrollment nationwide. This growth is driven by the synergy of historic safety levels and the motivation sparked by modern classrooms. The government’s ultimate goal is to reach 1,100 schools renovated, transforming a system that was once among the worst in Latin America into a global model of excellence that rivals the country’s success in public safety.

By launching two new school projects every day, El Salvador is proving that rapid, high-quality development is possible. President Bukele concluded by stating that while some may laugh at the ambition, the results will speak for themselves. The focus remains on ensuring that in 20 years, the world will not only praise El Salvador for its security but also for its world-class education system, built specifically for the children who are learning “from the heart” today.
