El Salvador is reinforcing its role as a reliable source of skilled labor for U.S. industries, as new recruitment efforts connect Salvadoran workers with temporary job opportunities abroad. The initiative is part of the country’s Labor Mobility Program, led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in coordination with the United States government.

In recent days, dozens of Salvadoran candidates participated in a recruitment drive aimed at filling positions in the seafood processing industry. The effort, carried out in partnership with a U.S.-based workforce agency, focused on placing workers with Pacific Seafood, a company seeking dependable labor for its operations.
A total of 50 applicants were interviewed for roles related to fish processing, highlighting the growing demand for Salvadoran workers in specialized sectors. According to company representatives, the consistent performance and strong work ethic of Salvadorans have made them a preferred choice for repeat hiring. “They are good workers. That is one of the reasons we keep coming back,” said a representative involved in the recruitment process.
At the same time, another U.S. staffing firm conducted interviews with 40 Salvadorans interested in hospitality roles in states such as Tennessee and North Carolina. The available positions include waitstaff, front desk personnel, cooks, and baristas, offering short-term employment opportunities in hotels and related businesses.
These recruitment efforts reflect a broader trend of strengthening labor ties between El Salvador and the United States. Officials say the program not only opens doors for Salvadorans seeking employment abroad but also helps meet workforce needs in key U.S. industries, creating a mutually beneficial partnership.
