El Salvador’s education system is receiving growing international recognition following significant progress in expanding access to higher education for young people across the country.
According to Alejandro Gutman, president of the Directorate of Integration, the percentage of youth in the public education system with access to university studies has increased from 3% to 45%, marking a major advancement in educational opportunities.
This achievement has drawn attention from international leaders, including representatives from the United Nations and the Minister of Health of Finland, who have recognized the country’s efforts to strengthen its education system and support youth development.
Officials highlighted that expanding access to higher education is a key component of El Salvador’s broader strategy to promote social mobility, economic growth, and long-term national development.
The progress reflects ongoing efforts by the government of El Salvador to invest in education and create more opportunities for young people, positioning the country as an emerging example of educational transformation in the region.
