A recent public opinion survey conducted by La Prensa Gráfica and released in early 2026 shows that President Nayib Bukele’s approval rating remains at historically high levels in El Salvador, reinforcing a trend of sustained public support over the years.
According to the data published by the newspaper, Bukele recorded an approval rating of 88.1% in 2019. The figure rose to 91.0% in 2023, stood at 85% in 2025, and climbed again in 2026 to reach 91.9%, one of the highest levels since the beginning of his administration.
The president reacted to the survey by reposting the results on social media, stating, “The most respected poll by the opposition, in the most important opposition newspaper.”
The survey highlights the stability of public perception toward the head of state, with approval consistently remaining above 85% at different points throughout his presidency.
The results have drawn particular attention because they were published by a media outlet known for maintaining a critical editorial stance toward the government, prompting renewed political and social debate in El Salvador.
