El Salvador Expands Trade, Investment, and Cooperation Initiatives in Spain

El Salvador continues to promote business, trade, and international cooperation in Spain through a series of high-level meetings led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Adriana Mira. The meetings focused on strengthening alliances, identifying opportunities for collaboration, and showcasing El Salvador’s favorable business climate.

Deputy Minister Mira met with Narciso Casado, Permanent Secretary of the Council of Ibero-American Entrepreneurs (CEIB) and Director at the Spanish Confederation of Business Organizations (CEOE), to present the country’s investment opportunities and economic advantages. The discussions emphasized El Salvador as a strategic partner for trade, investment, and productive projects, offering a gateway to the region and related markets.

In addition, Mira engaged with Bruno Fernández, Deputy Director General of the Network of Economic and Commercial Offices of Spain, to explore collaboration that strengthens El Salvador’s global network of economic advisory offices. This dialogue focused on sharing best practices to support economic growth and opportunity creation for Salvadorans.

The Deputy Minister also met with representatives from the European Open Business School (EOBS) to discuss potential scholarships and academic programs for Salvadorans, reflecting El Salvador’s growing recognition as a leader in education and professional development.

Further cooperation opportunities were explored with the Spanish State Research Agency (AEI), with discussions on exchanging experiences, promoting strategic projects, and consolidating triangular cooperation mechanisms. The AEI’s expertise spans diverse fields, including social sciences, engineering, ICT, energy, agricultural sciences, and more — offering potential avenues to support El Salvador’s development objectives.

These efforts underscore El Salvador’s commitment to strengthening international partnerships, attracting foreign investment, and fostering academic and scientific collaboration, positioning the country as a dynamic and attractive hub for business and development in Central America.
