El Salvador Connects Its Global Talent Network to Boost National Growth.

El Salvador held the event “Salvadoran Talent Abroad: Innovation and Comprehensive Development for El Salvador,” uniting professionals from around the world to strengthen the country’s innovation ecosystem and drive sustainable growth.

“From the Ministry of Culture, it is an honor to welcome you home and be part of a gathering that recognizes the courage, effort, and countless contributions of our compatriots abroad. You are the reflection of an El Salvador that transcends borders, a nation known not only for its territory but for the spirit of its people,” said Minister of Culture Raúl Castillo.

Castillo highlighted that many Salvadorans abroad have made significant impacts in academia, business, science, and the arts, showcasing the country’s potential on a global stage. “You have carried El Salvador’s name with pride, proving that our people possess both talent and commitment,” he added.

Presidential Commissioner for the Attention of Salvadorans Abroad, Salvador Gómez Góchez, emphasized the strategic nature of this initiative. “This event is historic because no president in our country’s history had created a commission like this. We are proud to represent President Nayib Bukele and to welcome you as you deserve when you return home,” he said.

He explained that the objective is to link Salvadoran talent worldwide to the nation’s development agenda. “This meeting brings together talent, connecting people to transform enthusiasm into tangible results and contribute to the comprehensive development promoted by President Bukele’s vision,” he noted.

Among the featured participants was Kevin Cruz, a Stanford graduate specializing in data science and machine learning. “My focus today is to expand Latin American artificial intelligence to the world, proving that El Salvador can compete in the global technology scene,” Cruz shared.

Another example of outstanding Salvadoran talent is Erick Urquilla from San Juan Opico, who is pursuing a Ph.D. in astrophysics at the University of Tennessee. His story, along with many others, reflects a new generation of Salvadorans using global knowledge and experience to fuel El Salvador’s transformation.
