LAR Invests $5 Million in OASIS Beachfront Residences Amid El Salvador’s Tourism Boom.

In response to the ongoing tourism boom in El Salvador under President Nayib Bukele’s leadership, Salvadoran-owned developer LAR has announced a major investment in the coastal region of Barra de Santiago. The OASIS residential project, now under construction, represents a $5 million investment aimed at transforming the tourism and residential landscape in Ahuachapán Sur.

Ricardo García Prieto, CEO of LAR Real Estate, emphasized the project’s significance both as a milestone for the company and as a symbol of confidence in the country’s evolving business climate. “LAR was born within the context of the country’s current situation, which has generated confidence among Salvadorans and foreigners alike,” he said. “The government is actively developing tourism hubs along the coast, and we are building innovative projects that support this vision.”

OASIS features 11 exclusive beach residences—each with four or five bedrooms—designed with modern architectural principles and a strong commitment to environmental preservation. Each home includes a private pool, en-suite bathrooms, spacious living areas, a kitchen, laundry space, and storage options. The five-bedroom model also offers a master suite with a private balcony overlooking the ocean.

Now over 65% complete, the project is expected to generate 100 direct jobs during construction and over 30 indirect jobs during its operational phase. It also aims to increase the value of the coastal zone in the municipality of Jujutla, contributing to long-term economic growth in the region.

Barra de Santiago: A Natural Gem with Tourism Potential

García Prieto described Barra de Santiago as “a magical beach with extraordinary natural beauty,” highlighting the area’s rich biodiversity and nearby attractions. Located within a vibrant ecological zone, the area offers access to mangrove ecosystems, unique flora and fauna, and outdoor activities such as whale watching, birdwatching, and sport fishing.

Strategically positioned near the Port of Acajutla, Cerro Verde, the Ruta de las Flores, and Lake Coatepeque, as well as the Guatemalan border, the project is poised to benefit from the increasing flow of regional tourists and investors.

Encouraged by the success of OASIS, LAR is already exploring expansion into additional coastal locations, with a strong emphasis on sustainability, innovation, and quality.
