In a bid to strengthen regional strategies in the fight against organized crime, Dominican Minister of the Interior and Police, Faride Raful, met with Attorney General Rodolfo Delgado and Salvadoran police chiefs to learn firsthand about El Salvador’s successful citizen security model.
The visit is part of an official effort by the Dominican Republic to exchange knowledge on legal reforms, investigative processes, and justice system modernization, areas in which El Salvador has achieved significant progress under President Nayib Bukele’s leadership.
“We held an important meeting at the Attorney General’s Office with Rodolfo Delgado, where we discussed the strategic link between justice and security,” Raful stated.
According to the Dominican Ministry of the Interior and Police, discussions included detention procedures, legal frameworks, and how reforms have strengthened El Salvador’s judicial response to crime.
Raful also visited the headquarters of the National Civil Police (PNC), where she met with top commanders to explore public safety strategies and community-oriented policing models that have contributed to El Salvador’s historic decline in crime.
“With this visit, we are promoting the strengthening of the National Citizen Security Strategy, sharing lessons learned in an effort toward integration and cooperation between the regions,” the Dominican institution shared via official channels.
This exchange reflects a growing international interest in El Salvador’s security reforms, which have resulted in unprecedented levels of public safety and reduced homicide rates across the country.
