El Salvador continues to reinforce its commitment to innovation, connectivity, and economic development through strategic global partnerships. Vice President Félix Ulloa Jr. (@fulloa51) and the President of @CEPASV, Federico Anliker (@anliker1980), met with a high-level delegation led by Jan Lennon, CEO of Atlanta International Airport, and Rafael Echevarne, General Director of the World Council of Airports for Latin America and the Caribbean (@ACI_LAC).
The meeting focused on the Global Training Program on Airports and Economic Development, a @UNITAR initiative designed to enhance airport management and boost economic progress. Discussions included El Salvador’s ongoing infrastructure projects, such as the modernization of the Port of Acajutla, the reactivation of the Port of La Unión in collaboration with Turkish company Yilport Holding, and the construction of the Pacific Airport, a key development to strengthen the country’s economy.
Vice President Ulloa emphasized the positive impact of President Nayib Bukele’s Economic Plan, which, alongside the country’s improved security climate, has attracted new investments. Meanwhile, Executive Director of #ESIAP, Claudia de Larin (@ClaudiadeLarin), highlighted the institution’s role in promoting innovation, including training programs in Artificial Intelligence.
With El Salvador International Airport welcoming 5.2 million passengers in 2024—a 16% increase from 2023—stakeholders explored opportunities to establish alliances that enhance aeronautical services. The delegation reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with the Salvadoran government, deepening partnerships with Atlanta International Airport and the Georgia Institute of Technology (@GeorgiaTech) to foster knowledge exchange, strengthen institutional resilience, and drive economic development.
With these efforts, El Salvador continues to position itself as a leader in innovation and global connectivity.
