El Salvador Expands Labor Migration Program to Europe.

El Salvador’s Labor Migration Program is reaching new heights with Europe now added as a destination for Salvadoran workers seeking legal, safe, and dignified employment opportunities abroad. Minister of Labor, Rolando Castro, made the announcement, revealing that the first groups of workers will soon travel to Europe under the program.

«Starting with the United States, followed by Canada, Costa Rica, and now Europe, we continue to open doors for Salvadorans to access excellent job opportunities,» stated Minister Castro on social media. He highlighted that the program will offer workers competitive salaries and excellent benefits, improving their quality of life while working abroad.

Since its inception in 2019, the program has successfully placed over 10,000 Salvadorans in jobs across various countries, supporting their families and contributing to the nation’s economic growth. Castro expressed that this is a «great blessing,» noting that the expansion to Europe strengthens the Ministry of Labor and Social Security’s efforts to create pathways for Salvadorans to work abroad with full legal protections.

The program’s success in 2024 was also noted, with the government affirming its commitment to expanding opportunities for Salvadorans to work in secure, well-paying jobs abroad, ensuring their labor rights are respected.

This expansion marks a significant milestone in El Salvador’s growing international labor agreements, positioning the country as a leader in promoting safe and regulated labor mobility. With further opportunities and destinations on the horizon, the Labor Migration Program promises continued success in the years to come.
