El Salvador Expands U.S. Job Opportunities Through Labor Mobility Program.

The Government of El Salvador remains committed to promoting safe, orderly, and regular migration by facilitating foreign companies to hire Salvadoran talent for temporary work in the United States.

In line with these efforts, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Labor Mobility Program, welcomed the American recruitment agency JTP, part of Atlantic Hospitality, a company specializing in hospitality and tourism. The recruitment drive, taking place on January 16-17, will involve over 150 candidates interviewed by the U.S. company, recognizing the potential of Salvadoran talent in the American labor market.

Deputy Minister of Diaspora and Human Mobility, Cindy Mariella Portal, highlighted the program’s progress, supported by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), stating that more than 14,000 job opportunities have been provided to Salvadorans. She emphasized that the initiative aligns with President Nayib Bukele’s development goals, offering Salvadorans safer and more organized access to international employment, improving their quality of life.

“This marks the third visit by JTP Agency to our country. Thanks to this strategic alliance, we have placed over 600 workers in the past three years, reflecting a shared commitment and confidence in Salvadoran talent,” said the Deputy Minister.

Jim Turner, a representative from JTP, is in El Salvador to lead the selection process for positions in kitchen work, dishwashing, waiting, cleaning, and gardening. During the recruitment event, applicants attended an informational session detailing the Labor Mobility Program and addressing questions, emphasizing the importance of identifying and reporting fraudulent job offers abroad.

Candidates expressed their gratitude towards the Salvadoran government, sharing their aspirations for personal and professional growth. Roberto Arévalo, one of the candidates, stated, “Programs like this help shift our mindset towards long-term goals that benefit our communities. If accepted to work in the U.S., I plan to invest in my small furniture business by importing vehicles and injecting capital.”

This initiative showcases El Salvador’s dedication to fostering international employment opportunities, driving economic development, and enhancing the livelihoods of its citizens through structured and secure pathways.
