Salvadoran President Nayib Bukele has reached an extraordinary 91% global approval rating, according to recent data from Morning Consult Political Intelligence, WCIOM, and Gallup. This remarkable figure places him at the top of the global leader rankings, surpassing figures such as Vladimir Putin of Russia (80%) and Narendra Modi of India (76%).
In contrast, leaders of major world powers have significantly lower approval ratings. U.S. President Joe Biden stands at just 37%, while French President Emmanuel Macron and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz have approval ratings of 18% and 19%, respectively.
Bukele, reflecting on his standing, commented, «At the top, one feels alone,» acknowledging the mixed reactions the results have generated internationally. The data highlights the striking differences in political support across countries, with Bukele’s popularity standing out in the global landscape.
Other notable leaders on the list include Javier Milei from Argentina (66%) and Claudia Sheinbaum from Mexico (64%), who also garnered significant approval, underscoring the diverse political dynamics shaping the global political scene.
