El Salvador continues to open its doors to the world as the country strengthens regional connections with the reactivation of a key air route. Today, the Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with the Autonomous Executive Port Commission (CEPA) and airline Volaris, announced the relaunch of direct flights between San Salvador and San José, Costa Rica.
This route is expected to invigorate tourism, business, and diplomatic relations between the two Central American capitals, enhancing the region’s dynamism and promoting El Salvador as a destination.
As of July this year, El Salvador welcomed over 2.3 million visitors, 54% of whom arrived by air. Alejandra Duran, Executive Director of CORSATUR, highlighted the importance of the route for both entrepreneurs and travelers, emphasizing its role in facilitating connections between the two cities.
The reopening of this route marks another step in El Salvador’s ongoing efforts to strengthen its position as a gateway to the region.
