A group of Salvadoran students have won scholarships to attend the PlanB Network Summer School in Lugano, Switzerland. This prestigious program, known as The Biz School, aims to equip students with the knowledge and skills necessary for employment in Bitcoin-focused companies. The course, coordinated locally in El Salvador by The Bitcoin Office and Cubo+, covers the fundamentals of Bitcoin, emphasizing its economic rationale, historical context, and its social, financial, and business implications.
The highlight of the program is a special bootcamp week in Lugano, offered to the top 21 students from around the world. Three students from Cubo+ have earned this opportunity and will proudly represent El Salvador in Switzerland.
Stacy Herbert expressed her pride on X, stating, «The three CUBO+ 2024 students who just won the scholarship to travel to Lugano for further bitcoin education with PlanB Network Summer School met today with the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs. Bitcoin Country is so proud of them!» She also noted the inclusion of two students from the inaugural class and representatives from The Bitcoin Office and PlanB Network in the meeting.
Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Adriana Mira, welcomed the delegation, emphasizing the importance of such opportunities. She highlighted how these experiences would enable students to enter Bitcoin companies and contribute to the country’s development. Mira encouraged the students to represent El Salvador with pride and share the story of their country’s renovation with the world.
The students shared their excitement on social media. Isis Cruz said, «An exciting day! Today, after receiving our PlanB Network class, we went to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where we were able to share many things with our vice minister, Adriana Mira, about our trip to Lugano, Switzerland and, of course Bitcoin. Thank you Bitcoin Office and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.»
Maureen Montano added, «Thank you very much Vice-Minister Adriana Mira, for receiving us at the ministry where we had a very enriching chat. We talked about our experience in Cubo+ and the opportunity to represent El Salvador in PlanB Network in Lugano, Switzerland.»
