President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador held a meeting with the Executive President of the Central American Bank for Economic Integration (CABEI), Gisela Sánchez Maroto, to reaffirm and strengthen cooperation ties with the regional organization.
The CABEI serves as a crucial partner for El Salvador, having financed strategic projects such as the National Stadium Jorge “El Mágico” González and the National Gymnasium, both integral parts of the Infrastructure Construction and Sports Arena Rescue Program (PRODEPORTE).
During her visit, Sánchez Maroto, accompanied by CABEI’s Director in El Salvador, Alejandro Zelaya, the Public Sector Manager, Manuel Torres, and the Country Representative, Raúl Castaneda, toured these sports facilities.
“In her stay, the Executive President of CABEI reiterated that one of the Bank’s objectives is to strengthen commitment with each of its member countries by understanding the challenges and opportunities they face, as well as the progress achieved with the projects we support,” stated the press release issued by CABEI.
CABEI supports El Salvador with various projects including road, social, and productive infrastructure, energy, education, financial intermediation, water and sanitation, environment, and housing, among others.
This reaffirmation of cooperation between El Salvador and CABEI underscores the mutual commitment to advancing development and prosperity in the region.
