Ramiro Cienfuegos, a Salvadoran who has resided in Denver, Colorado, United States for several years, is embarking on a tourism project in his hometown. The project, called El Mirador de La Cruz, is being executed with an investment of $6 million.
Cienfuegos stated that everything is ready to begin construction in the second semester of this year, and the tourist attraction is expected to be completed by the second semester of 2025.
“The excellent security conditions in the country motivated me to invest and promote an innovative project here in San Pedro Puxtla, such as El Mirador de La Cruz. This development will bring tourism and economic growth to my place of origin and the country as a whole,” expressed Cienfuegos.
He emphasized that the project will generate direct and indirect employment opportunities for the people in the municipality, especially those in his community.
One of the main highlights of the project will be a glass-covered lookout and a helipad. Additionally, there will be a recreational and tourist park with a restaurant, cabins, a swimming pool, a multipurpose hall with a capacity for 200 people, a VIP lounge, and a chapel.
Tourists will also be able to enjoy a barbecue area and go hiking across approximately 53 acres of land, which includes orange, tangerine, lemon, jocote de corona, soursop, vegetable, and coffee plantations, among other attractions for visitors.
Support for New Investments
As part of the support for new investments, specialists from the Directorate of Investments for Salvadorans Abroad and Municipalities, under the Investment and Export Promotion Agency of El Salvador (Invest), visited the project, which has received the necessary support during the phase of paperwork and permits.
“As a government institution, we are always supporting investment coming to El Salvador. President Nayib Bukele has entrusted us with extending a helping hand to every national or foreign investor coming to the country. The investments from our compatriots abroad are strengthening and decentralizing the economy throughout the country,” stated Salvador Gómez Góchez, head of Invest.
The Salvadoran investor expressed gratitude to President Bukele’s government and the institutions that have facilitated the process for executing the Mirador de La Cruz project.
According to government statistics, from June 2019 to the present date, Salvadorans abroad have invested approximately $580 million in the country, driven by the favorable citizen and legal security conditions enjoyed by El Salvador.
