El Salvador Coffee Revenue Jumps 14% to $190M as North American Sales Lead Export Growth.

El Salvador’s coffee sector has hit a major milestone during the 2025/26 harvest season, generating $190.1 million in export revenue through August 2026. This represents a solid 14% increase compared to the $167.1 million recorded in the previous cycle. Driven by a 12.4% boost in total production—reaching 963,650 quintals—the nation’s coffee industry continues to strengthen its global presence while boosting income by an extra $23 million.

North America continues to solidify its status as the primary engine behind El Salvador’s coffee commercialization. According to official data from the Salvadoran Coffee Institute (ISC), North American buyers acquired 64.6% of the country’s total export volume. “In the 2025/26 financial year, export volume showed a 1.03% increase, while overall revenue grew by 14% compared to the same period in the prior harvest,” reported the ISC, underscoring the high value placed on Salvadoran beans abroad.

While raw green coffee (café oro) dominated shipments at $184.2 million, the country’s diverse product offerings also expanded their reach. Soluble coffee generated $3.6 million, roasted coffee reached $2.1 million, and parchment coffee added $15,274. Beyond North America, global markets actively sought Salvadoran coffee, led by Europe with 17.1% of total shipments, followed by Asia (5.2%), the Middle East (3.7%), and the United Kingdom (3.4%).

This economic momentum relies on a robust national infrastructure powering the industry from farm to cup. As of late August, El Salvador boasts 18,484 active coffee producers, supported by 72 processing plants, 150 exporters, 40 roasters, and 32 intermediaries. This growing network not only highlights the country’s premium coffee capacity but also secures its reputation as a reliable, top-tier supplier for international markets.
