CAF Executive President Sergio Díaz-Granados Meets With President Bukele to Expand Support for Education, Health and Infrastructure in El Salvador

El Salvador and CAF are strengthening their cooperation as the multilateral development bank prepares to expand financial support for strategic projects in the country, including education, health, aviation and public infrastructure.

President Nayib Bukele met with CAF Executive President Sergio Díaz-Granados to review projects currently being implemented with the institution’s support and discuss opportunities for additional investment.

During the meeting, Díaz-Granados said CAF is prepared to mobilize its own resources and those of its partners to support new investments in areas where El Salvador seeks to deepen ongoing transformations and develop enabling infrastructure.

The cooperation encompasses several sectors with direct implications for national development. CAF has supported education modernization, including digital infrastructure and technology; initiatives in healthcare; the development of El Salvador’s aeronautical sector; and projects aimed at revitalizing public spaces.

Díaz-Granados also highlighted the changes taking place in El Salvador and their broader regional significance, describing the country as “the mirror of Latin America.”

The expanded partnership positions CAF and El Salvador to continue developing financing and technical cooperation for projects intended to strengthen infrastructure and public services while supporting the country’s next phase of development.
