El Salvador’s National Ballet Shines at Panama Festival, Showcasing Artistic Excellence on the International Stage

The National Ballet of El Salvador earned international recognition during its participation in the Panama Ballet Festival in honor of Dame Margot Fonteyn, where the company showcased its artistic talent while contributing to regional cultural exchange.

Held at the City of Arts in Panama, the event brought together dancers, instructors, and prestigious ballet companies from across Latin America. Throughout the festival, Salvadoran artists took part in intensive training sessions, collaborative activities, and professional exchanges designed to strengthen the development of dance in the region.

Beyond its stage performances, El Salvador also contributed to the educational component of the festival. Rubén Rashev, a teacher with the National Ballet of El Salvador, led a master class attended by dancers from several participating companies. His technical approach and methodology received positive feedback from international performers, who highlighted the value of the experience in refining their skills and expanding their artistic perspectives.

The festival provided an opportunity for Salvadoran dancers to learn from leading professionals while also sharing their own expertise, reinforcing the country’s growing reputation in the performing arts. The experience demonstrated how cultural initiatives can strengthen international connections and foster collaboration among artistic communities across Latin America.

By combining performance, education, and cultural diplomacy, the National Ballet of El Salvador continues to elevate the country’s presence on international stages, promoting Salvadoran creativity, artistic excellence, and cultural identity beyond its borders.
