El Salvador is preparing to welcome thousands of visitors and surf enthusiasts during the Surf City El Salvador Pro and Festival, scheduled to take place from June 6 to June 14. Organizers confirmed that admission to the event will be completely free, reinforcing the government’s strategy to promote tourism and international sporting events along the country’s Pacific coastline.
The competition is expected to attract both local and international athletes, while the accompanying festival will feature entertainment, cultural activities, and experiences designed to showcase El Salvador’s growing reputation as a world-class surfing destination.
Through the Surf City initiative, the government of Nayib Bukele has positioned El Salvador as one of the leading surf tourism destinations in Latin America. Beaches such as El Tunco Beach and Punta Roca have gained international recognition for hosting major surfing competitions and attracting travelers from around the world.
Authorities expect the event to generate economic activity for local businesses, hotels, and restaurants while continuing to strengthen the country’s image abroad as a safe and attractive tourism destination.
