El Salvador’s President Nayib Bukele Highlights Faith, Wisdom, and Security Gains at U.S. National Prayer Breakfast.

President Nayib Bukele participated as a special guest at the U.S. National Prayer Breakfast, where he emphasized the importance of seeking wisdom from God above wealth or power, describing it as essential for responsible leadership and decision-making.

During his address, Bukele highlighted El Salvador’s transformation in public safety, noting that the country has shifted from being one of the most violent in the world to becoming one of the safest in the Americas. He underscored that his administration prioritized protecting law-abiding citizens and Salvadoran families in its fight against criminal gangs.

The Salvadoran leader stated that the battle against gangs went beyond law enforcement and also involved a spiritual dimension. He recalled that authorities discovered satanic altars during operations in areas linked to criminal structures, which, according to him, showed that the challenge was not solely criminal in nature.

Bukele concluded by framing the country’s changes as a profound national transformation rather than a single security strategy. “If God worked in that way in El Salvador, He can also do it in your countries,” he said, adding that the purpose of the gathering was not to pray for fame or riches, but to seek wisdom to govern for the benefit of all.
