El Salvador is strengthening opportunities for young people to pursue higher education abroad through a new outreach initiative led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Beginning today, the El Salvador Agency for International Cooperation (ESCO) launched a series of scholarship information sessions at the country’s Urban Centers for Well-being and Opportunities (CUBOs), bringing international academic options directly to local communities.
The goal of the program is to ensure that more Salvadoran students can access fully funded study opportunities overseas. During the sessions, participants receive detailed information on scholarships offered by partner countries and international organizations, including eligibility requirements and the application process.
One of the highlighted opportunities is the open call for undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral scholarships in China. This program provides comprehensive financial coverage, including round-trip airfare, tuition, accommodation, living expenses, and health insurance, allowing students to focus entirely on their academic development. Undergraduate recipients will also have the chance to study Mandarin, while participating universities maintain high academic standards and official accreditation.
Beyond academic training, the program offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in an ancient culture and engage with peers from around the world—an experience designed to enrich their personal and professional perspectives.
The first information session took place at the CUBO in Sitio del Niño, San Juan Opico. ESCO will continue its nationwide outreach with upcoming sessions at additional CUBO centers:

- Thursday, December 11, 3:00 p.m. – CUBO Santa Lucía, Mejicanos
