The latest CID Gallup opinion study confirms that President Nayib Bukele continues to enjoy very high levels of approval and popularity among Salvadorans. Luis Haug, the firm’s general manager, highlighted that nine out of ten Salvadorans support the president, a trend that has remained consistent over the past six years. This level of stability is unusual in the region and speaks to the strong connection Bukele has maintained with the public, Haug explained.
He also noted that Bukele stands out significantly compared to his predecessors, practically doubling them in approval and popularity. The survey shows that citizens perceive the president as someone who governs for all Salvadorans, which has consolidated his image both domestically and abroad. Haug emphasized that the results mainly reflect how people value Bukele as a person, beyond the specific actions of his administration. The people see him as a leader who represents them, not just a politician in office, he added.
According to analysts, the consistently high approval ratings reinforce Bukele’s dominant position in Salvadoran politics and underline the public’s confidence in his leadership style, even as the country undergoes major transformations in security, economy, and international relations.
