President Bukele Tops Global Approval Rankings with 91% Support.

President Nayib Bukele of El Salvador holds a 91% approval rating, earning the distinction of being the most popular leader in the world, according to global polling data aggregated by World of Statistics.

Bukele’s exceptional popularity reflects widespread domestic confidence in his administration’s policies, notably his aggressive public security strategy, digital innovation with Bitcoin, and sweeping institutional reforms. The ranking positions him well ahead of other global figures such as Vladimir Putin (78–80%), Narendra Modi (76–78%), and Javier Milei (58–60%).

Analysts attribute Bukele’s enduring support to measurable reductions in crime and homicide rates, alongside his direct communication and results-driven governance style. These factors have helped build a strong national mandate—even as civil society and international observers raise concerns over democratic erosion and rights restrictions.

Bukele’s popularity signals not only widespread domestic approval but also reflects a shift in international perceptions of leadership—particularly in smaller economies asserting greater sovereignty and reform momentum on the global stage.
