El Salvador reaffirmed its global reputation for high-quality coffee during the prestigious “Cup of Excellence El Salvador 2025,” held recently in the country to showcase the dedication and craftsmanship of Salvadoran coffee producers.
One of the standout moments of the event was the participation of Vytautas Kratulis, a prominent Lithuanian coffee expert and owner of some of the most renowned coffee shops in Lithuania. Thanks to efforts by El Salvador’s diplomatic mission in Sweden, Kratulis was invited to serve as an international judge at the competition, organized by the Salvadoran Coffee Institute.
During his time in El Salvador, Kratulis not only tasted top-tier coffees alongside a panel of global experts but also engaged directly with local farmers, learning about their stories, their land, and their deep passion for coffee. “For producers, this competition is much more than a score: it’s an act of trust and pride,” he stated.
Kratulis also visited Alchemia, a Salvadoran café ranked among the world’s top 15, which he praised as a true reflection of the country’s coffee culture—marked by excellence, warmth, and knowledge.
The 2025 Cup of Excellence in El Salvador featured a carefully curated selection of coffees, each representing months of hard work by farmers and their teams. Through this program, Salvadoran coffee continues to gain recognition in elite markets, forging strong connections with buyers willing to pay for quality.
