The United States and El Salvador are reinforcing their partnership through coordinated efforts to address regional security challenges and expand civil nuclear energy cooperation. Brent Christensen, U.S. Under Secretary for Arms Control and International Security, emphasized the importance of these shared goals following a recent high-level discussion with Salvadoran representatives.
“Tackling illegal immigration, countering narcotics, and advancing civil nuclear cooperation — the U.S. and El Salvador are building a safer, more prosperous future together,” Christensen said on X. “Thank you Milena Mayorga and teh Salvadoran Embassy in the U.S. for a productive conversation on our shared priorities.”
The message was echoed by the U.S. Embassy in El Salvador, which reposted Christensen’s remarks in Spanish and highlighted the ongoing dialogue with Milena Mayorga, El Salvador’s Ambassador to the United States.
The meeting reflects a growing alignment between both countries on key areas of cooperation. By combining efforts to combat illegal migration and organized crime with forward-looking initiatives in nuclear energy, El Salvador and the United States are taking steps toward long-term regional stability and economic development.
