El Salvador is strengthening its reputation as a sports tourism destination with the fifth edition of the SurfCity El Salvador Half Marathon, set for July 20 in Punta Roca.
“We’re excited to launch another edition of a race that grows every year,” said Ricardo Bonilla, director of Trail Runners El Salvador. The event offers 11 and 21-kilometer routes and expects around 750 runners and 1,000 attendees.
“This is a unique chance to combine sports and tourism,” noted Alejandra Durán, Executive Director of Corsatur. Punta Roca, managed by the Ministry of Tourism, is one of the country’s most visited sites and is currently under renovation.
Runners from countries such as the U.S., Japan, Italy, Argentina, and across Central America will participate. The event promotes tourism, local development, and El Salvador’s coastal beauty under a secure and welcoming environment.
