With the aim of strengthening El Salvador’s export presence in global markets, the Embassy of El Salvador in the Netherlands, together with the Dutch-Salvadoran Bilateral Chamber, participated in a diplomatic and commercial event dedicated to showcasing Ron Guazapa. The gathering served as a platform to highlight this premium Salvadoran rum as part of the nation’s growing export portfolio.
Hosted at the facilities of Persian Caviar in The Hague, the event brought together local entrepreneurs, Dutch government officials, diplomatic representatives, and potential European buyers. The setting provided an ideal atmosphere for a sensory experience centered around the unique character and quality of Ron Guazapa.
Ambassador Agustín Vásquez Gómez praised the active role of the Dutch-Salvadoran Bilateral Chamber, led by Sonia Meijer, stating that “their tireless work continues to open doors for Salvadoran products in Europe.” He emphasized that these actions align with national goals to diversify and expand El Salvador’s international commercial reach.
Attendees enjoyed a guided tasting session led by rum expert Gianni Dubipersad, who detailed the flavor profiles and production techniques behind each variety of Ron Guazapa, including Dorado, Light, Guazapa 5, and Guazapa 8. The rum was served both neat and in signature cocktails, paired with a curated culinary selection designed to enhance its tasting notes.
High-level representatives from Ron Guazapa joined virtually to share the brand’s rich history and distinct production process. Their presentation offered deeper insight into what sets the rum apart in the competitive European market.
The event also welcomed diplomats from several Latin American countries, members of the renowned Sociëteit de Witte, Dutch business leaders, and civil society figures interested in importing Salvadoran goods.
This initiative underscored the collaborative spirit between the Salvadoran Embassy and the Bilateral Chamber, reinforcing their shared commitment to promoting El Salvador’s economic and commercial interests in the Netherlands.
