First Lady’s Delegation Showcases Salvadoran Culture at Paris Congress.

Representatives from the Office of First Lady Gabriela de Bukele participated in the International Congress on Brain Sciences, Attention, and Education in Early Childhood, held on September 26 in Paris, France. Organized by UNESCO and the Babilou Family Foundation, the event brought together over 1,700 experts, researchers, policymakers, and public sector professionals to discuss the integration of scientific advances in early childhood care and education.

Alexandra Posada, head of Early Childhood initiatives in the First Lady’s Office, served as a panelist, while Marianna Montes, head of International Affairs and Cooperation, delivered a message on behalf of Gabriela de Bukele. Notably, Nobel Prize-winning economist James Heckman also contributed to the discussions.

El Salvador distinguished itself as the only nation with its own exhibition, presenting the Colección Árbol de Vida, a literary collection aimed at enriching Salvadoran cultural identity and promoting literature among young learners.

The country’s participation in the congress underscores significant strides made in early childhood development, driven by government strategies such as the Crecer Juntos law and the National Policy for Early Childhood Development. «This commitment has positioned El Salvador as an international benchmark, with a presence at highly prestigious events such as the UNESCO congress,» stated the First Lady’s Office.

Following the congress, the El Salvador delegation engaged in high-level meetings with UNESCO officials and representatives from the Babilou Family Foundation, aiming to strengthen multilateral relations in education, culture, and child development that will benefit the nation.
