IILA Allocates €4.5 Million for Sustainable Projects in El Salvador.

The International Italo-Latin American Organization (IILA) has allocated more than €4.5 million to support sustainable tourism initiatives in the region. El Salvador is among the nations set to benefit from this funding, which aims to boost the tourism sector through various development projects.

This announcement followed a meeting in Rome, Italy, between El Salvador’s Foreign Minister, Alexandra Hill, and IILA Secretary-General, Antonella Cavallari. The discussions focused on expanding ongoing cooperation initiatives and exploring new opportunities for collaborative work between the two entities.

In addition to tourism, IILA is actively involved in a community-based agriculture project at the SISTAGRO center, part of the Plan Trifinio in Metapán, El Salvador. This initiative promotes knowledge sharing and technological innovation in family farming, with a particular focus on home gardens.

El Salvador’s authorities also emphasized the importance of the “Revitalization of the Quality Cocoa Chain” project, which highlights the nation’s quality cocoa production. They expressed keen interest in promoting cocoa for its medicinal properties and aromatic characteristics.

IILA has further supported El Salvador by providing cocoa processing machines, enabling the transformation of cocoa beans into chocolate bars, boosting local production and adding value to this vital agricultural product.
